To discount or not to discount?
I love Thanksgiving. One of my closest friends lives in the US with his family and we all get together most years and celebrate Thanksgiving in a big way! It’s such a lovely concept. Spend a day with friends and family. Have some delicious food and drink and just take a breath, spending a day reflecting on how grateful we are. Perfect! But along with Thanksgiving comes Black Friday offers!
Small business costs
This year, we sadly won’t be able to offer Black Friday discounts. The margins are just too tight. I started Cavallo Lusso to try and bring lesser known brands to the UK and also to give great value for money whilst supplying luxury brands. I designed and purchased beautiful packaging in order to give my customers a lovely shopping experience. There is also free delivery on all online purchases. Both of these things cost me money and I don’t pass it on to the customer because I feel that’s important for a good customer experience. I know this is my choice but it doesn’t make for big profits!!
Black Friday vs Customer Experience
So, to Black Friday offers. The bigger companies can offer big discounts. They have the cash flow to run big loss leaders or they have enormous margins to be able to reduce prices further. Unfortunately, for small businesses, this isn’t possible. I work hard to give you, my customers, the best value for money with the pieces of clothing I choose, all year round. My prices aren’t over inflated, I just want to try to make sure you have the best possible shopping experience from Cavallo Lusso whilst making a living for myself. If you message me at 10pm, I’ll respond and answer your question. I’ll take the time to find out your needs and try and find the piece of clothing that you’re describing.
Many items in the sale section are below the price I paid for them as they are end of stock lines. I discount these end of lines throughout the year. I want you to know that whenever you buy from me, whatever time of year, you’re getting the best prices. My loyal, repeat customers who subscribe to the newsletter get regular discount codes. New items are added into the sale section of the website regularly too.
In a time when big players like Amazon, Ebay etc are dominating the market, please consider buying from a small business. I pick everything myself, pack it myself and am grateful for every single customer that’s ever bought from Cavallo Lusso. It really does mean so much.
