There’s so much equestrian clothing on the market, the choice can sometimes be completely overwhelming! My suppliers come and see me with samples for the upcoming season about two or three times a year. I see samples for the winter collections in February and then I see Spring samples in August! As you can imagine, the array of equestrian clothing I see from each supplier is massive!
I’m very lucky to have suppliers who are hugely supportive. Obviously, I originally decided to work with them because I loved their clothing and as the years go on, we work together with ideas and suggestions for both the look of clothing but also its practicality and technicalities.
It’s all about you!
I think it’s really important to have you in mind when I’m selecting the pieces I’m going to buy. Not only does it need to look fab but it also needs to stand up to the hard work that is having horses! It’s not about just selecting pieces I love, it’s about making sure there’s a good choice with excellent technical properties which are also a great price. (I also have to make sure there’s enough colour… if I had my way, everything would be navy 🤣)
Quality is so important
Most of us don’t have time (or in my case, the patience) to go out and do lots of shopping for clothes. Many of my customers only shop at events from the tradestands. It’s, therefore, really important that the quality is great. The last thing anyone wants is for the clothes to only last one season. It’s just not sustainable, practical or cost effective. I’m thrilled to say that the first pair of breeches I bought for Cavallo Lusso were Montar breeches, 6 years ago. I still wear one of those pairs now and they’re as fab as they were when they were new. In fact, I had a customer visit the tradestand last year to apologise for not buying anything for a year because all the clothes she’d bought from me were still going strong!
Nearly time to order for Winter 2022/3
If you have any suggestions for clothes you’d like to see at Cavallo Lusso next winter, let me know here!
